Privacy policy

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or ad trackers. The one thing we record is a click on a “Get the app” button: it passes through go.cissp-cat-practice.com, which logs the click on the server before redirecting you to the App Store or Google Play.

What the pages themselves do

The pages are static files. There is no account, no sign-in and no form to fill in, so there is nothing for you to hand over. Fonts are served from this domain, so no third-party font service sees your visit either.

The practice console on the practice test runs entirely in your browser. Your answers, the Weak-spot tally and the Timed 60 clock live in the open page and nowhere else: nothing is sent to us, and nothing is stored on your device, which also means a reload wipes your progress. A minor inconvenience, and the price of not keeping a file on you.

The server that delivers the pages sees your IP address, because that is how a web page reaches you, and may keep the routine request logs every host keeps. We do not add analytics on top of that.

Every “Get the app” button points to go.cissp-cat-practice.com rather than straight to a store. When you click one, the server records the following and then sends you on. On a phone you land in your store; on a desktop you get a small page with both store badges, and a badge click is recorded the same way.

Fields logged per app-button click
FieldWhat it is
PageThe page of this site you clicked from, and where on it the button sat
Operating systemiOS, Android or other, read from your browser’s user-agent string
DestinationApp Store, Google Play or back to this site
IP addressThe address your request came from
NetworkThe provider that owns that address
Approximate locationCountry, region, city and time zone as estimated from the IP address by the network edge — not GPS
User agent and referrerThe browser identification string and the referring page your browser sends anyway
Campaign tagsAny tracking parameters already present in the link

No cookie is set, no identifier follows you to other sites, and no script runs in your browser to collect any of this.

Why we keep it, and what we don’t do with it

The click log answers one question: which pages send people to the app, and on which platform. That tells us which pages are useful and which are just long. The record is written after the redirect has been sent, so it does not slow you down.

  • We do not sell the click records or share them with advertisers.
  • We do not combine them with cookies or cross-site identifiers — there are none.
  • We do not use them to target ads at you, here or elsewhere.

Changes and questions

If any of this changes — say, we ever add analytics — this page changes first, and the revision in the document-control panel moves with it. Questions about privacy go the same way as everything else: see the contact page. Who we are is on the about page; the home page is where the CISSP material starts.
